To be a good teacher

" In ancient times those who wanted to learn would seek out a teacher, one who could propagate the doctrine, impart professional knowledge, and resolve doubts. " - On Teaching, By Han Yu

Give a man a fish; you feed him for a day; while teaching a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime. In my opinion, teaching entails not only the transmission of knowledge but also the construction of skills and life perception. This construction process normally comprises three major parts: 1) motivate students to ask questions, 2) train them to acquire the relevant information with a view to answering the questions, and 3) assist them to analyze and get the answer themselves. Throughout my teaching career, it has always been my aim to develop these core competencies among my students.
